The problem:

When connecting a Playstation 3 to a Linksys wrt54g wireless router the router keeps rebooting itself. The problem is the mediaserver option in your Playstation.

Possible solutions:

I have seen many solutions on the internet. These options describe giving your PS3 a static ip or place it in a DMZ. But these options don’t work (in my case)

2 possible solutions are:

1. Disable media server in PS3
2. Disable uPnP in your router

Disabeling mediaserver is not what I want. Because I want to use the mediaserver

The best option in my case is: 2
To do this follow these steps:

1. Go to the home page of the router http://192.168.1.1
2. the standard password is admin with a blank username
3. Go to the menu section administration
4. Disable the uPnP option
5. Save settings
